"Annotator Bill Whitaker properly compares the harmonies and drive of 'House' to Honegger. And yet there is melody in abundance, from the operatic main title to the cataclysmic finale (where, atypically, everyone dies). Nobody does this music better than William Stromberg and his Muscovite band. Sonics are powerful, despite a little too much reverberation. The comprehensive booklet that graced the Marco Polo release is here reduced to eight pages. But even if it were packaged in a bare paper sleeve I'd still send an enthusiastic "buy" signal." -American Record Guide
