Notes & Reviews:

In the space of two years, composer George Tsontakis has been awarded two of composition's richest prizes, the 2005 University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award and the Charles Ives Living in Dcember, 2006 by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The Grawemeyer Award-winning Violin Concerto No. 2 was written for violinist Steven Copes and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and premiered in 2003, and recorded directly following the performances. Also included on this CD is Tsontakis' most recent premiere, 'Clair de Lune.'
