Notes & Reviews:

"Faure was the first to write a 'Pelleas and Melisande'... it's beautiful music, and this is a lovely recording of it... 'Masques et Bergamasques' was also a four-movement suite. Originally (1919) there were eight numbershere we have all eight... this is a fine performance, and it is rare to hear all eight pieces... Also on this (recording) are five Faure gems: 'Ballade', 'Elegie', 'Berceuse', 'Fantasy', and 'Les Djinns'... this ('Les Djinns') is an excellent recording. So is everything here. It's essentially all of Faure's orchestral music, and it's all as sweet and limpid as he was inclined to be. Lovely stuff, and the price is two-for-one." - American Record Guide
