Notes & Reviews:

Klaus Tennstedt brought the London Philharmonic Orchestra a major recording contract with EMI and concert engagements in Japan and the Far East; Franz Welser-Most followed with further enhancement of the Orchestra's strengths as a highly skilled instrument of accompaniment and Kurt Masur presided over interpretations of the great masterworks with the authority of an elder statesman of conducting. Seventy-five years on from the Orchestra's founding, Vladimir Jurowski becomes Masur's successor - truly an orchestral conductor for the 21st century.
