Notes & Reviews:

By his early 20s, the Australian hornist Hector McDonald was playing in the Berlin Philharmonic under Von Karajan and, since 1989, has been solo Horn with the Vienna Symphony. His extensive repertoire rages throughout all periods and, with colleagues Harding and Munro, he presents what are probably the three most significant works in the unusual category of Horn Trio.
