Notes & Reviews:

The year of this release is an anniversary year for all three composers on the CD: the centenary of Grieg’s death; Elgar’s 150th birthday; and the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Sibelius. A violinist and violist of the highest caliber, Isabelle van Keulen has an established reputation on the world’s concert platforms. Her engaging personality and extraordinary musical vitality have made her one of the most sought-after and charismatic musicians of her generation. Pianist Ronald Brautigam is remarkable not only for his virtuosity and musicality but also for the eclectic nature of his musical interests. He is equally adept in music old and new, on the historical fortepiano and the modern piano.
