Notes & Reviews:

These two volumes are a veritable treasure-trove for the lieder aficionado. Many of these recordings have been extremely rare for decades, featuring artists whose only legacy is the work they did in recording studios so long ago. Some are just names, with barely any biographical information to pass along. Others, like Kirsten Flagstad and Madelein Grey, are justly famous and are still admired for their live performances and studio recordings.
