Album Summary
Conductor Ensemble ComposerNotes & Reviews:
Jozef Swider was born in Upper Silesia and studied at the Katowice Conservatory and with Geoffredo Petrassi in Rome. He has composed many orchestral works but places great emphasis on sacred choral music. These pieces have been in the repertoire of nearly every Polish choir for years. His songs for children's choirs are extremely popular with young performers. His early works reflected neo-Classicism, but his present post-Romantic, sometimes neo-modal diatonicism goes hand-in-hand with a restrained, intimate and discreetly nostalgic expression.
