Kenneth Fuchs has written for orchestra, band, chorus, jazz ensemble, and various chamber groups. His first recording for Naxos also featured the London Symphony Orchestra under JoAnn Falletta, as well as the orchestra's principal horn player, Timothy Jones. This meeting inspired Fuchs to write the concerto 'Canticle to the Sun' for Jones and 'United Artists' as a tribute to the orchestra. Two of the works on this recording were inspired by paintings: 'Autumn Rhythm' by Jackson Pollock's famous picture of the same name, and 'Fire, Ice, and Summer Bronze' by Helen Frankenthaler, whose art adorns the cover of this disc.
