- Virginia Eskin (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
Czech composer and conductor Vítezslava Kapralova began composing at the age of nine. She began her studies in conducting and composing at the Brno Conservatory and in 1935 moved to Prague and continued her musical education at the Prague Conservatory. In France she became a pupil of Charles Munch and Nadia Boulanger, as well as Bohuslav Martinu. Her anticipated spectacular career, and life, was cut short at the young age of 25. The compositions she left behind were critically acclaimed during her lifetime, and continue to be praised by music historians today.
