Notes & Reviews:

The organ in Lichfield Cathedral was built by William Hill in 1884, incorporating a number of stops from a previous instrument by George Holdrich. It was reconstructed by the original builders in a chamber above the north quire aisle in 1908. In 1974 and 1999 restorations were done to the instrument, which were completed in 2000. Andrew Lumsden was born in 1962, educated at Winchester College and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before going to St. John's College, Cambridge as an organ scholar. In 1992, he assumed his present position. He has an extensive discography including this first recording of the newly-restored Lichfield Cathedral organ.
