Notes & Reviews:

The world-renowned Ludwig Guttler's prowess as a trumpeter may have been overshadowed all these years by his remarkable work as conductor of the Virtuosi Saxoniae and other early music groups, but he returns to his own instrument in this remarkable recital. The nature of this album can be best summed up in this exchange between interviewer Karsten Bluthgen and Guttler, in response to the question, "How does it feel to perform in the newly rebuilt Frauenkirche?" - "I am at a loss to express the feeling verbally...satisfaction is there - satisfaction and affirmation in respect of a dream come true, one which I was able to serve and which is far more than the sum of its individual parts. Having music in the Frauenkirche is the reward for several decades of striving and struggling for something which embraces far more than impressive architecture."
