A marvellous six disc box from Nanve that handily gathers previously issued live performances. àmy admiration for de Leeuw's La Transfiguration, which is full of insight and some glorious singing, has grown over the years. The icing on the cake, though, is Messiaen's 80th birthday concert in Paris, with Yvonne Loriod the indefatigable soloist no less than four works... it is the crushing performance of Oiseaux exotiques that, quite rightly, brings the house down.
