As with the previous CD of improvisations entitled "Lieder of the Advent and Christmas", there is no written out music on this recording - all of the pieces are solely improvisations. The type of movement, formal treatment and the particular harmonic language arose directly out of spontaneous ideas at the instrument, inspired by the "atmosphere" and the texts of the hymns. In the course of the brief, "playful" working-out, the definitive tone colors for each arrangement were also selected.
