Performers Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Can it be? It can be: once again a completely unknown Mozart composition has come to light. It is called 'Das Donnerwetter' (KV 534a, The Thunderstorm) and on this CD it is heard together with the universally renowned 'Alla Turca.' Moreover, Siegbert Rampe performs on an original harpsichord from 1771 by Burkat Shudi, a Swissborn master builder of keyboard instruments. The forty-two compositions of the London Sketchbook were penned while the Mozarts were visiting England in 1764-65. It was also at this time that the young Mozart met Burkat Shudi and enthusiastically availed himself of the opportunity to play his newest harpsichord.
