Notes & Reviews:

This recording performed by the Concilium Musicum Wien on original period instruments celebrates their 25th anniversary. Established in 1982, its aim was to perform music of the 18th century in the manner in which it was performed in its time. Over the course of its existence the ensemble's repertoire has expanded in scope and range to encompass baroque music and dance music of the 19th century. Works by neglected and in some cases forgotten composers have been performed and less well-known works by the great classical masters have been brought to light.
