Notes & Reviews:

An ancient cathedral without its daily offering of choral worship would lose its primary purpose. Since earliest times cathedrals have managed to call upon the best artistic resources available, and have chosen to use them in liturgy to the glory of God. The service on this recording, which includes readings and prayers, as well as music, is appropriate to the annual celebration of the consecration of Exeter Cathedral, which took place on November 21, 1133.
