The Finnish singer Kim Borg was born in 1919. His studies in chemistry were interrupted by the war and it wasn't until 1946 that he obtained his degree as a professional engineer. He had been studying voice since 1937 and worked with the famous Russian singer Adelaide von Skilondz in Stockholm. His debut concerts took place in 1947 and his stage debut singing Colline in 'La Boheme' took place in 1951. His breakthrough came with the role of Prince Gremin in 'Eugene Onegin' at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. This success marked the beginning of an international career that was to take him to six continents.
