Notes & Reviews:
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is comprised of some of the finest orchestral players in the world. In the Channel Classics series "First Chairs of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra," its principal musicians present a selection of chamber pieces written for their own instrument. The second installment features principal flutist Emily Beynon, a much sought-after soloist, chamber musician and enthusiastic supporter of new music. The listener is sure to enjoy these attractive, unjustly forgotten works that were carefully culled by Emily Beynon.
Gramophone Magazine
This is a rare treat, music by five very different women composers, played by one of the leading exponents of her instrument. Beynon's playing is splendid throughout and she is ably supported by her circle of friends.
