With "Mythical Dances" - a recital devoted to two of the most important and challenging works for piano four hands - Wergo presents the recording debut of the Belli Piano Duo. For the second of four volumes which make up George Crumb's 'Makrokosmos', Enrico and Olivia Belli juxtapose the music of this American composer (b. 1929) with that of a predecessor who has influenced him most profoundly. Given that "Makrokosmos IV" was both conceived and written for piano duet, it made perfect sense to couple it with Igor Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring'.
