For nearly 20 years, Mike Svoboda has committed himself to expanding his instrument's repertoire and has premiered over 300 works for trombone in various settings from composers such as Wolfgang Rihm, Sandeep Baghwati, Toshio Howokawa, Martin Smolka, Peter Eotvos and Helmut Lachenmann as well as his own Love Hurts - Carmen Remix, a 35 minute modern Carmen-Variations.
