These are world premiere recordings of this repertoire with the panpipes. The original recordings were made in 1984 and 1985 and have been remastered for this reissue. Simion Stanciu, born in Bucharest, was the first performer to introduce the panpipes to classical music. His nickname is Syrinx after the famous work by Debussy as he is famous for his interpretation of this work.
