Notes & Reviews:
This new complete recording of Bach's organ works represents the most extensive such project ever undertaken. It comprises not only Bach's authentic works and all of his arrangements but also numerous works of disputed authenticity, some of them in world-premiere recordings. It even includes the recently rediscovered Chorale Fantasia BWV 1128. The selection of instruments - historical organs from Bach's immediate environment in Thuringia and Saxony as well as world-famous Bach organs of great significance from sites such as Groningen, Grauhof, and Trondheim - is also unprecedentedly unique.
"For the sweet sounding organs of Bach's own time - various instruments around Germanic lands - and for his always solid interpretations, Gerhard Weinberger is highly impressive in his cycle of the complete organ works on CPO." -1001 Classical Recordings You Must Hear Before You Die
