Notes & Reviews:

An emblematic work of the gothic period, Guillaume de Machaut's 'Messe de Nostre Dame' is a summary of his time. Just as architecture gained verticality thanks to the use of the ogival arch, the ribbed vault, and the flying buttress, music blossomed into polyphony with a verticality belonging to the same movement. This is a major step for Diabolus In Musica following Du Fay's 'Se la Face ay Pale' mass, which was very successful in 2004.
