Robert Ampt (Organ)
Notes & Reviews:
This reissue of a recording originally on the Michael Woodward label features the Sydney Town Hall organ. The Sydney Town Hall Organ comes in the middle of a tradition of gigantic organ building. The organ would not be out of place in a cathedral. Its specification betrays a determination by its designers that it should be the world's biggest, even if they were hard pushed to think up enough stop names to pad out the list to the desired total. It is recognized as one of the greatest concert organs in the world.
