Notes & Reviews:
Six (authentic) piano waltzes form the opening and central block of this program. These pieces have a simple form, which then prove to be amazingly varied in terms of melodic invention with surprise effects and rhythmic teases. In the following four 'adaptations' Offenbach himself worked on the pieces, for example "Valse favorite" from his Feerie "Le Voyage dans la lune".
