Album Summary

>Kayser, Leif : Symphony no 1
>Kayser, Leif : Symphony no 4
Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Leif Kayser (1919-2001) was an indisputably gifted composer and quickly established himself as one of the coming young men of the Danish musical scene, until he abandoned it for a period to dedicate himself to the priesthood. Today his four symphonies stand as some of the finest testimony to Kayser's talent in the repertoire. Dacapo released Symphonies 2 and 3 in 2007. Vol. 2 offers the Late Romantic work of his youth, 'Symphony no. 1' from 1939, as well as the fourth and last symphony from 1963 with a correspondingly far more inward, almost defiant tonal idiom.
