Notes & Reviews:

ATMA Classique is pleased to introduce the first of three CDs with the prestigious Bienne Orchestra of Switzerland under conductor Thomas Rosner. The Jewish-themed program is built around John Williams' Academy Award-winning score for Steven Spielberg's film 'Schindler's List'. The recording includes Ernest Bloch's 'Suite Hebraique' and 'Concerto grosso No. 1', and features violinist Alexandre da Costa and pianist Marc Pantillon as soloists.

The film score for Schindler's List is considered to be one of John Williams' masterpieces. To compliment the suite, da Costa has chosen Bloch's Suite Hébraîque. The Swiss pianist Marc Pantillon joins the orchestra for the final work, Bloch's Concerto Grosso No. 1.
