Notes & Reviews:
At the interface between contemporary music and flamenco, Sotelo has progressed to become one of the leading European artists of his generation. Possessed by curiosity about sounds - which haunted him even in his dreams - he absorbed sonic impressions from the world around him. There was no piano at home, but the guitar was omnipresent: pop music, Jimi Hendrix, experimental jazz, and above all flamenco and 'cante jondo', the tragic and highly emotional vocal music of the oppressed.
