Combining these two classic recordings is a tribute to Jacques Thibaud, who died 55 years ago on September 1 and also to Eugene Ysaye, the dedicatee of both of these works. This year marks the 150th anniversary of this great Belgian violinist's birth. A fresh transfer of these recordings has long been awaited.
