Notes & Reviews:

The Chicago Symphony Chorus takes center stage in two gorgeous French works from the twentieth century. Poulenc's effervescent 'Gloria' features up-and-coming soprano Jessica Rivera's recording debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The scenario for Ravel's ballet 'Daphnis et Chloe' was adapted by choreographer Michel Fokine from a third century romance by the Greek writer Longus. At almost an hour, 'Daphnis et Chloe' is Ravel's longest work and the music is widely regarded as some of the composer's finest and most passionate.
