Notes & Reviews:

Raaf Hekkema loves his saxophone, and the public and the music press love his refreshingly irreverent rendering of Paganini's caprices so much that it earned him an Echo Klassik Award. On this "Paganini plus" CD the "Instrumentalist of the Year" once again gives his all, this time together with his fellow Dutchman, the pianist Hans Eijsackers. The "plus" involves not only Eijsackers but also the many composers who over the last two centuries have arranged and paraphrased Paganini's caprices.

Reviews

Warning: this is not a SACD
Mr. Hekkema is quite the showman -- exactly what Paganini calls for -- and I certainly recommend this disc. But this is not a Super Audio CD; the audio is pretty super, though.
