Yet another sound document from the Tyrolean Festival Erl! Under the musical direction of Gustav Kuhn, 'Parsifal' is not only turned into a thrilling music theater performance but also takes on a sensitive, spiritual quality. This live recording conveys the dramatic atmosphere at the Passionsspielhaus. Space is turned into sound, illuminated by the festival orchestra and navigated by the singers. As befits the setting, the sound of the organ and the celebration of Grail music make the opera appear almost like an 'azione sacra'.
