Notes & Reviews:

Andreas Haefliger's concept of replicating his recital programs on record has been a critical and commercial success. The fourth installment in the Perspectives series juxtaposes Beethoven with works that are inspired and influenced by that composer's great corpus of piano sonatas. This release preserves the vivid memories of Haefliger's live performance of this repertoire in November 2008 at the Wigmore Hall, which The Sunday Times found by turns "searing and exquisite."

BBC Music Magazine
... perhaps the most striking playing of all comes in the Brahms where Haefliger delivers an interpretation of formidable granitic strength that nonetheless manages to encapsulate the work's more introspective and poetic aspects.

Gramophone Magazine
The outer movements' ungrateful octaves and fistfuls of chords flow like oil, while Heafliger's nuanced, cultivated touch brings a three-dimensional quality to the slow movement's sad lyricism, to say nothing of his focused, rhythmic control in the Scherzo...[an] assured and committed performance.
