Notes & Reviews:

Matthew Dirst is the first American to win major international prizes in both organ and harpsichord. Noted for his stylish playing of Baroque music in particular, his performances have been critically praised as "technically dazzling... deeply moving", and reflective of the "radiant joy of this most life-affirming music". In addition to his work as a soloist, Dirst is the founder and artistic director of the period instrument ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston. He also serves as Associate Professor of Music at the Moores School of Music, University of Houston, where he teaches courses in music history and performance practice and directs the university's Collegium Musicum.
