American Record Guide, September/October 2013
In Volume 8, from 2002, the UNT Symphonic Band shows its prowess again. Several of the pieces completely won me over. Battle Music and Scootin' on Hardrock (the title refers to a little road in Texas) are terrific, challenging pieces that were commissioned by high school bands. The four-movement, 13-minute Song of Moses is a reading by the US Air Force Concert Band & Singing Sergeants.
