Notes & Reviews:

Jacques Loussier and others made jazz arrangements of Bach's works back in the '60s when it was "hip" to do so. Now, acclaimed German jazz pianist Thomas Gabriel brings out the first such disc in a long time. This one will rank right up there at the top. Bach, who was often in trouble with his employers for improvising and playing music which the boss felt was "out of place," would approve.
