The highly regarded Scottish pianist Alasdair Beatson was the second place winner in the China Shanghai International Piano Competition in 2003. Beatson studied at the Royal College Music as well as at Indiana University. He is active as a soloist and chamber musician and has performed in Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, and Wigmore Hall in London.
