Notes & Reviews:

Herbert von Karajan is one of the most important conductors of the past century. Similar to an avant-garde composer, who gave attention to the smallest touch of sound, Karajan worked on the world-famous symphonies of Beethoven, Brahms, and Bruckner as well as Richard Strauss' symphonic poems, presenting them as enticing musical narrations, glittering with brilliant colors. These recordings were made during Karajan's tour of Moscow in 1968, his third visit to the USSR during the course of five years.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory (05/28/1969).
