Notes & Reviews:

This recording comes from music written for the charitable institutions in Venice who took in orphans. These Ospedali offered a safe haven for musical girls and women until they married, embarked on musical careers or entered a convent. Two world premieres (Hasse and Galuppi) are included.

Gramophone Magazine
These uniformly excellent performances are a highly important contribution to reviving the faded fortunes of Vivaldi's most talented younger contemporaries.
