"This is a collection of Donald Martino's "Later Works", all from 2004. (He died in 2005.)...These late works remind me more of the music of a composer like Andrew Imbrie than Carter, and listeners drawn to that kind of chromatic classicism might be surprised at how much they like the works offered here...I have never been much of a fan of this composers music, but these often arresting works are definitely worthy of attention.
