This recording continues the series on Alba of the music of Estonian composer Veljo Tormis- this one contains Tormis' musical vision of the Finnish national epic Kalevala. Inspired by Kodaly's choral music, Tormis has been increasingly influenced by the world of ancient folk songs of different peoples- not only Estonia but also the neighboring Baltic- Finnish people.
