Viennese pianist Roland Batik studied at the Vienna University for Music and Performing Arts at the same time specializing as a jazz pianist. He has created his own personal style, performing soloist evening piano concerts featuring a combination of his own compositions with a classical, romantic and impressionist repertoire. His recordings of the complete Mozart piano sonatas were awarded the best interpretation of the year in 1991.
