Mendelssohn: Antigone

Notes & Reviews:

Mendelssohn's music for Antigone, comprising an introduction for orchestra and seven choral movements, is currently enjoying a revival during the composer's bicentenary. Still, it remains among the least known of his major works, even though it was one of his most popular works in the 19th century.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Liederhalle Stuttgart (09/05/2004).
