A long awaited CD of a major new composition by one of America's greatest and most elusive composers from the early days of postmodern minimalism. A pioneering voice in the new relationship being forged between the classical tradition and popular culture, Scott has played an influential role in incorporating rock instrumentation into traditionally scored compositions, and the use of taped, sampled and MIDI-controlled electronic elements within instrumental ensembles. 'Americans', meticulously recorded in his own studio and presented in six movements, is a work over ten years in the making. Dynamic and endlessly complex, it is yet another masterpiece by this exciting musical maverick.
