Notes & Reviews:

Born in 1930, Ryouhei Hirose graduated from Hokkaido University and the Tokyo University of Music & Arts. He has composed for traditional Japanese instruments as well as Western instruments. His is a pluralistic compositional idiom as is evidenced by the works on this recording.
