There are very few things to say about Andres Segovia which hasn’t already been written. He has simply been the greatest ever, the first, who has been capable of bringing back the guitar to the high rank status which it seemed to have lost at the end of the 19th century. He succeeded in it thanks to his indefatigable soloist activity, especially during studio recording work and thanks to the large number of discs released. In this recording, along with famous musical chapters such as l’Omaggio a Boccherini of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and the Piezas Caracteristicas of Federico Moreno Torroba, the music lover will enjoy the listening of two genuine rarities which Segovia recorded in 1956: Alba and Postludio of the swiss composer Hans Haug. They haven’t been available since more than 20 years now.
