Notes & Reviews:
With the perennial Allegri Miserere as its headline piece, this Renaissance album brings together a great collection of Polyphony and Part Songs by 9 great composers including Byrd, Tallis and Monteverdi. PCA are unsurpassed in their performances and in the part songs distinguished singers James Bowman and James Griffet are accompanied by the English Consort of Viols. Speaking of the Palestrina 8 part Stabat Mater Gramophone wrote: "No need to emphasize the pathos... which blooms out unaided. Comparison with other recordings... seems quite pointless. This very handsomely occupies a niche of its own."
