The first two releases in the cycle of piano music by French composer Charles Koechlin were such a huge success with audiences and critics, that a third volume was planned. No doubt, this will also excite a lot of interest! The reasons are simple: First, as is now clear, given the quality of Koechlin's music, he has been unjustly neglected. Second, there is the gifted young artist, Michael Korstick who is already so immersed in Koechlin's world of sound that the listener can not escape the resulting intensity. Koechlin's mastery in the treatment of the orchestra, the colors, blends, sounds, aromas, which he coaxed from instruments is breathtaking. Recreating this sonic palette on the piano and is the major challenge for Michael Korstick, and he has mastered it brilliantly.
