Notes & Reviews:

Renowned British tenor James Gilchrist presents his second recording for Orchid Classics, "Schwanengesang" (Swan Song), Schubert's final song cycle, coupled with Beethoven's "An die ferne Geliebte" (To the Distant Beloved), widely considered to be the very first song cycle ever written. Gilchrist is one of Britain's most popular and sought after singers. This is the first time he has recorded Schwanengesang and it makes a wonderful and much awaited addition to his extensive discography. Gramophone advertising will support this release. Gilchrist has also recorded "Die Winterreise" for release in 2011.
